First Annual Ithaca NY Highland Games
Yesterday was the First Annual Games in Ithaca NY, I decided to take the drive down and see what it was like, the truth is I only drove down to Grand Island then went to Wompet's (Gary's) House and he drove the remaining miles. We got down to the games without much problem and were on-site by about 12:20 after a strange little parking setup and a shuttle to get there. The games were held in the Pinecreek Campgrounds so it was a strange setting for a highland games, but it was a fun day and in a games with about 1700 people there were around 7 X-Markers in the crowd. So onto the Pictures
No sooner had we paid at the gate then Barb Tewksbury was there giving me a hug in her piper gear, here she is with Gary

This was interesting a sword with a drone for a handle

Here is the field

Mexpiper and Wompet

We met the kilted magician, sort of a kilt don't I'm sure he'd look better had it fit him properly

There was a wee Heilan Coo

And some sheep

A group shot of some of the X-Markers there.

Gary's mystery bill of fare, what do you think it is?

more to come

Where was all of this when I was at Cornell?! I was forced to wear my kilt alone while hanging out with buddies at Roloffs! Oh well, it was fun :-)

Great pics, and fast posting! it sure was a surprise to see you there, and it was good to meet you, Wompet.
Actually, the band pics are of our Grade 5 band competing. I competed later with our Grade 4.

OK that explains why we did not see you in those pictures, we saw you marching to the field when we were leaving, how did you do?

Cool pics. I wish I could have been there. I planned to attend but have been out of town for the past 5 weekends in a row and decided to take a break from traveling.
