    first kilted pic

I decided I finally needed to get a picture of myself kilted. With any luck I'll actually be able to display it in this thread. I haven't yet worn this outfit out and about, but I think it'd work alright. The kilt is my olive Utilikilt mocker and the waistcoat is from J. Crew.

I like the direction you're heading. There's just something about a kilt that makes you want to dress a little better than you did the day before. Lately I've been wearing a lot of tweed waistcoats, too.

    Rex.

Thanks much, all. I'm a teacher so going to work kilted isn't really an option, but the top half of my outfit is what I wore to school today.
I just ordered another waist coat in preparation for the arrival of my new kilt in MacPherson hunting from USA Kilts. And if the ebay gods are good to me, I'll be getting a sport coat on the cheap that I can hopefully get modified to wear with the kilt.

Looks fine to me. You might want to add a sporran, and then again you might not.

I really like that bank of windows behind you. I bet it's very pretty when the leaves change.

Where did you get the waist coat from?

By the way, what do you teach?

Since waistcoats are relatively inexpensive (atleast compared to a jacket), it seems like an easy and inexpensive way to dress up a little better. Would you agree?

Nice job brother! You will find that their are many of us on XMTS who daily help stamp out the ignorance of children (teach.) I wear my kilts in the summer and get quite a few looks and words from the summer school minions as well as the athletic teams. Best to you in your kilted endeavors.
