    Five brothers, 1907

From the personal web pages of Donna Smillie, an ancestor and brothers, 1907:

Interesting. The British schoolboy hats (what is the proper term for those?) seem appropriate, instead of the standard bonnets. And looking closely, there's three different styles of shoes and four different styles of sporrans - reflecting slight changes in fashion or what was available in the correct size? And the doublets/jackets, too - I don't think I've ever seen that sytle outside of a military uniform.

This is the sort of thing that keeps me pushing my mother to pull out the photo albums and have me scan them into one of our computers.

    Thanks for the photo, Rex.
I am easily moved for sympathy for dogs, far more so than for humans, because dogs do not understand. There is no way to explain that you will return, that the vet will make it all better, that they cannot go shooting today because that is not what today is about. They cannot work out that their misery is finite and will some time end, and so their misery is magnified.
