Flag Day Ceremony

I attended the Flag Day ceremony that my AMVETS Post put on this evening. We retired 2000 flags that had become worn.

Here's my outfit:

That's my new US Army tartan kilt. I know that the shirt and hose could have been better matched, but it was the best I could do today. (Hmm, guess I need to buy more. )

I know a lot of you don't like baseball style caps with the kilt, but maybe you'll give me a break on this one, considering the occasion:

The sporran was Buzz Kidder's Rob Roy to which I attached the US Army Hatpin:

Awesome pic! And the hat you are wearing is great! Especially since it recognises all of the soldiers that are connected to that hat! The fact that you are recognising all of the heroes of all of the American wars, by wearing your hat, shows alot of character and pride in our great country.
The fact that you are wearing a kilt shows great pride in your heritage!

Looking good there, even with the hose/shirt mis-match.

You keep posting pics of that Army kilt and I might just have to make my next kilt the Army tartan

I really do like that tartan. The retiring of the flags I wish more people would understand.

Your socks match your hat. No problem. Great hat.

In that picture, I'm standing about halfway between the fire and the building. You could feel the heat of the fire all the way to the building.

Actually, the hose are a dark navy. The shirt was also supposed to be navy, and that's why I ordered it. When it arrived, however, as you can see it's more of a royal blue. In truth, it almost matches the blue stripe in the kilt, though.
