| | | Flagstaff, Arizona Burns Supper 2Feb2008
At the invitation of Graeme & Jackie Niven (owners of Arizona Kilts), my wife & I headed north this last weekend to the highlands of Arizona for the Robert Burns Supper presented by the Northern Arizona Celtic Heritage Society. Besides looking forward to a fine evening, it was nice to get away from all the hype & hustle surrounding Super Bowl XLII.
The name & place where the Burns Supper was held was very appropriate - it was held at a place called, The Kilted Cat on Kiltie Lane.
Here's a pictorial review of the evening's events. view of The Kilted Cat hall before the start of the program Graeme Niven (who was the MC) in conversation before start of the program (notice the "great" sound system ) the selection of Scotch at the bar (since each dram was $5 regardless of which Scotch, I stuck with the best 2, the Clynelish & Caol Ila) another view of the Banquet Hall
(stay tuned for more pics...)

Please stand by; we are currently experiencing technical difficulties...
OK, really, there's lots more photos coming whenever PhotoBucket stops acting so squirrely & lets me access my photo albums... it keeps telling me that it "cannot display the webpage"
Oh, great! Now, I'm getting a "PhotoBucket Site Maintenance" screen when I try to access PhotoBucket! Guess I'll have to give this a rest & post the rest of pics when PhotoBucket is back up.

At least I'm seeing the pics on the first two posts now. I won a drawing at our Burns Night (booze, toys and games). It showed up on my desk yesterday as I had left my tickets with some friends when I bugged out.

We had a good system at Ferintosh - bring a bottle then help yourself to whatever was on the table.
(Mind that was for a period of a long weekend and not just for the supper itself.)
I brought a bottle of the Caol Ila and it proved very popular!

I'm thinkin' my SportKilt and a Yavapai County Sheriff's Office T-shirt would have been a wee bit out of place...

OK, after PhotoBucket kicked the bucket for several hours, it's finally back up, so on with the show! Piping by The Arizona Highlanders hittin' the bottle (had to get a picture of this - an odd substitute for Bass Drum, presumably to be quieter)
Also, I completely spaced on getting a seperate pic of the other XMTS member there, Ialtog, but you can see him in profile in this photo with the glasses & red tie. more Piping (with late arriving 2nd drummer) Highland Fling by Megan McPherson more Highland Fling
