    Flowery kilt

I know that I am rather late with this posting, but I've only managed to sort out the photographs.
I made this kilt as a Christmas present, from fabric we bought in Bath during a summer holiday. The fabric is french printed cotton and very unusual as it is 2.80 metres wide.
I fully appreciate that not all will find this kilt to their taste, but the recipient certainly did, although I suspect that it will be worn more during the summer.
It's a 6 yard machine stitched without the internal pleats being cut out,and lined in a striped shirt cotton

That is unusual fabric, indeed! Is the model also the recipient? Because he looks like he's enjoying it a great deal. Did you consider a white sporran?

yes, the model was the recipient... it was made to measure , of course..
White sporran... no!! it was enough of a discussion to consider allowing him to have a white background fabric.........

The kilt looks very well built and my only suggestion would be to loose that industrial looking sporran, it would look better with a Utilikilt and either get something in the same color of the belt or perhaps go with a custom pink or black belt and sporran.

I can't say that I would wear that kilt, but it looks very well made, and if he likes it then I guess it's a success!

If part of wearing a kilt is about making a statement about life and the courage to go your own way ( and I think it is) then this one works just fine.
