If your kilts fit him well, offer to bring an extra to the next family gathering for him to wear.
I know I'm doing my best to eventually get my brother and cousins into the kilt, but none of us are the same size so it's more complicated.

I was surprised at how well he took to it. He said that he forgot he wasn't wearing pants until someone made a comment (all positive). Not self conscious or anything.
