Hawaii Burns Night

My wife and myself attended the annual Burns Night last night held at the Hawaii convention center in Honolulu. Over 300 had a grand night. The Society donated bottles of single malt to all the tables , I also brought an extra of a fine Bowmore Surf to go with the Highland Park 12 YO on the table- with only 4 gents drinking, only a quarter of the Highland was left ( this is why I did not take many pics)

Our Key Note speaker and special guest Piper was Jim Motherwell (B.E.M., Pipe Major at Eton, 10th Queen’s Piper (Ret)). He told some very funny stories about playing for US Presidents and is without a doubt, the finest Piper I have ever heard.

Here is my lovely wife with Father Rubie ( 81 year old Marine)

Here is one at Cocktails in the lobby before being piped in for dinner

The Celtic Pipes & Drums of Hawaii with Jim Motherwell

and lastly one of me sporting my 8 yrd Morrison ancient hunting green kilt, Sheriffmuir doublet, L&M Badger, Lace Jabot & cuffs from Lady Chrystel, ancient green garter ties from the Tartan Museum.

Wonderful photos, it sounds like a great night, I think I need to get myself a Sheriffmuir Doublet for my next big purchase. Glad you had a good night, thanks for the photos.

Sounds and looks like a great event!

You look great in your Sheriffmuir doublet (so what t-shirt did you decide to wear for such a formal occasion? )

Cheers

Jamie

Ol' Father Rubie looks like he's been 'round the block a few times. I'll bet he's a character and a half. Super pics. Cheers!

Looks like a grand evening though perhaps sobriety could have been at risk!
