The Hawick Sock Company - Making Kilt Hose

A wee red factory, nestling in the lower slopes of Gala Law on the edge of Hawick is home to the House of Cheviot/Hawick Sock Company, where they build all kinds of good quality kilt hose, plain, tartan, military diced, etc.

Let's take a peek inside

I absolutely love my Hawick hose, they are truly a joy to wear, and for the money one of the best on the market. Thanks for the wee tour Alex, it's nice to see where they come from.

Do they take orders direct ?
The socks are mainly produced for wholesale. Their catalogue specifies a minimum order of 8 pairs for tartan and diced hose but does not appear to specify a minimum quantity for plain hose. They will be finished work for the day by now but I will find out for you tomorrow if there is a retailer in Norway who can supply you or whether they would take a direct order.

Direct order could be dangerous, I would love to replace all of my other hose with Hawicks products they are that nice.

My understanding is that no, they do not take orders direct, they are wholesale only. I'm sure they would be glad to direct you to a retailer near you, however.
