| | Houston St.Andrews Celtic Festival
Some of the Houston rabble attended a great little Celtic fest today at St.Andrews Episcopal church in the Heights. They had lots of good entertainment, venders, chow, and great flatcap weather!

Thanks for posting those, Z. It was just chilly enough in the early afternoon for the day plaid, but it went to the car after the photo op. My new diced hose from Skye Highland Outfitters were worn for the first time, too. The garter ties are from STM.
In addition to seeing TriolaMJ, Zardoz, Zardoz's wife, and a lot of their friends, I ran into an ex-colleague I hadn't seen in literally 30 years; and, I met some Facebook friends by accident, too. Raised a Southen Baptist, it was different for me to drink a beer on church grounds. I was there at the opening ceremonies in which the priest was led through the gates by two pipers while she sprinkled the crowd using a hyssop branch. So, I think I'm good to go. The live music was EXCELLENT! It was an unusual and fun day to say the least.
Thanks to Z's wife for taking the photos.
Steve

Thanks for the comments. Yes, we, as a group, might have to don our flat caps with kilts for the next photo op.
I recently purchased these black shoes to replace my ghillie brogues for informal wear. They are Docker brand and seemed VERY comfortable when I bought them and while I have worn them on a few recent occasions. However, each of those times after which I have worn them, my left foot gets sore. This is odd since the shoes are very comfy when wearing them and only my left foot goes south on me. But, it has happened too often to be caused by anything but the shoe. The quest for a GB replacement continues, I guess.

Looking good.
Steve,
Have you hit up an REI store? They do sell the SuperFeet insoles. I've had issues with my feet since 2001, and finally picked up a pair of the orange SuperFeet insoles. Probably the best $50 I spent. The problems are almost completely gone. Sure, my feet will bother me, if I wind up walking on something very unstable, like the drainage rock that one of the automotive junkyards around here has, but it usually is something treatable by a single dose of ibuprofen, instead of taking multiple doses for a few days.

Very happy feet when you have an airsole. (Perhaps I should re-phrase that). Edit: I do like the Black ones but I'm not sure if the chunky soles are a bit too informal for your desired informal look.
