Re: I don't want to work I just want to bang on the drum all day!
That looks like a very fun evening! I love the bodhran.
While in the service, I was in Egypt in 87. We had a combined unit talent night, and someone had an Irish Army exchange "student", who went up and played solo bodhran for about 15 minutes. That still sticks in my mind as one of the most interesting and beautiful music pieces I've ever heard.
Still amazes me how such a simple instrument can be so versatile.
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man

The great thing about still photography is that a feeble attempt at playing the bodran and being a bodran virtuoso look exactly the same.

I love to play the bodhran, though I've not yet done so kilted...

Of the three of you pictured, I think you look the best - I am not a fan of white hose. You make it look natural and ordinary and you certainly don't look self concious in any way.
Well done on your performance.

Quite right but better to be honest than be called for false bravado. Dry Fly was in attendance as our Master of the Single Malts. He has does a great job of presenting the tasting theme of the night.

Yes it is great fun. I need to get my own so I can practice my rhythms. I only get to play once or twice a year.

Thanks Chas, I think I have adapted to the addiction. I had cream and black hose I could have worn but borrowed the green because my new accessories had not arrived. I wanted the first outing for my new kilt to have more flair.

Don't sell yourself short. Although we both plied stick to hide, you have a better sense of it and much better rythm!
It was quite the fun evening!
