I must love my wife - skin art
The inspiration

Stencil only

My artist, Eddie Padilla.

Some outlining

Outline done (mostly)

Adding some background.

Does it look like my baby?

All black and grey is done. I could have left here and had an awesome tattoo.

Nope, I stuck it out for that awesome red hair.

Done!!

It doesnt hurt now, but the hair hurt like hell. He had to go over the same area again and again, and again. Lots of subtle shading, color combinations, fine details, etc...
In total I was in the chair from 4:00 PM until Midnight. Eight hours of work, one sitting, probably three hours on the hair alone.
My wife actually drew out everything but the face, feet, and hands. Eddie filled in those details and added the shading. Awesome job, and I am very happy with it.
.. the kilt had concealed a blaster strapped to one thigh and a knife to the other. He was aware of the present gentle customs against personal weapons, but he felt naked without them. Such customs were nonsense anyhow, foolishment from old women - there was no such thing as "dangerous weapons," only dangerous people.

That looks amazing! But I bet it cost you a pretty penny

Excellent work. I've been thinking of getting a WWII bomber nose pin-up style tattoo of my wife on my upper arm for quite a while. Eight hours in the chair at one time is pretty hard corps. The longest I've ever sat for a tattoo (so far) is five hours and I was really ready to stop at that point.

A good likeness. Congratulations on the new tattoo, but I do hope you won't be offended if my congrats. are somewhat muted. I do genuinely and sincerely hope you and your wife will stay together for life, and that you would never come to regret having this tattoo. From bitter personal experience a young attractive mate can suddenly move on when you are least expecting it. If she runs off with a new man you would find it difficult to justify the tattoo to your next partner and it would be even more painful to have it removed. Just my two pence worth.

Love the ink and love the style that you have used. The shading looks awsome and the lines are nice an crisp. That is a nice tat and I do like the placement as well.
I know what you mean about the 8 hour drill - I have a few tats myself, and my "Highlander" took a total of 24 hours to complete over three sittings of 8 hours each. It took 8 for the outline, 8 for the shading and another 8 for the color. Of course my artist took half hour breaks every hour or so, and spent a lot of time on small details, so I guess the actual 'needle' time was more like 12-14 hours.
So - what is your next one? (if you think Kilts are addictive - just wait!)

Not a soldier discharged his farewell shot,

The guy did a good job. Something just jumps out at me (thought it doesn't necessarily ring true here.) You know the old saying "Never trust a skinny chef?" ............
