I'm stylin' now!
As I mentioned in my jonesing post, I was able to pick my new Argyll jacket up at the post office today. When I got it home, I got all my stuff out and had Karen take a couple of pictures of me. My mother was all wrong, I CAN be taken out in public!
The jacket came from the Ebay seller "Kiltshop" (Kirk Wynd Highland House Kiltmakers), in Fife, Scotland. It looks fabulous, at least Karen thinks so.
(Yes, I will be getting rid of the patterned tie as soon as Karen gets me a solid black one for Christmas)
One question though...do the black kilt hose look ok, or should I go with the bottle green ones I have?

Looks good. IMHO oatmeal hose would look nice. Thanks for sharing the pic.

The jacket looks great!
I'd lose the black hose and get off-white ones to wear with a white shirt.

That is a nice jacket Al.
Think you'd just have to experiment with the kilt hose. The black doesn't look that bad, but there are probably other options to experiment with.

Nice jacket, very smart, I like black hose, but green or oatmeal would be fine too.

Looks good Al. Nice jacket, beautiful kilt, and I don't mind the black hose; but then again ask my wife about my fashion sense.
Oh yeah, nice kitchen too.

Al... The jacket does look fabulous. It just makes one want to book a nice supper in a fancy restaurant, doesn't it!
When I bought mine, I was advised by the kiltmaker that the jacket should be left un-buttoned and that's the way I typically wear it. But I'll let others comment and stand corrected if this point is in error.
cheers,

green might be a little much with the flashes and kilt being green i would say offwhite....and a second to the green tie to tie in the top to the bottom... no pun intended....

Thanks for the comments and suggestions, everyone!
That is what makes this forum so great...lots of constructive criticism when it's needed, especially for those of us who are fashion-impaired. LOL
I'll try again with my cream hose, and I'll give a dark green (to match the kilt) tie a shot as well. I'll also see how it looks with the jacket undone. I wasn't sure about that one when I had these pics snapped today.
