Individual Shots at the Heather & Thistle RBS (Houston) 2010

Here are a few select shots at the Heather & Thistle Society's Rabbie Burns Supper held at the Marriott Westchase in Houston, TX, on January 23, 2010. I selected only a very few shots taken by the Texas artist, Sam Caldwell, as most shots came out too dark.

This is the Address to the Haggis, performed by Jack Hume formerly from Glasgow. They are wearing white hose, but no fly plaid!

Here's a shot of Jim Walters, owner of Caledonian Kitchen, and Sam Caldwell, noted Texas artist. The water-color of Rabbie Burns was painted by Sam. Although Jim is looking down his nose at you, he's quite a nice fellow, as is Sam. It's Jim's haggis we et that evening.

Here's a shot of Sam's wife, Vizi Caldwell, myself, and Ros Shepherd, formerly of Aberdeen. Ros is wearing the black-and-white Shepherd tartan. BTW, I'm wearing my new angora-hair sporran. My clan MacIntyre tartan kilt and matching tartan hose are obscured.

I think that's the first time I've seen Jim in his kilt without a "Caledonian Kitchen" t-shirt! :-)
