    Kilt night in Preston Lancashire

    Hi folks.
Thought I'd post a few pictures of the kilt night we had in The Black Horse in Preston, Lancashire on Tuesday night. I believe this is the first ever X Marks kilt night in Lancashire.

The Black Horse is a beautiful, traditional Pub. It serves Robinson's Beers (Brewed in Stockport near Manchester) and has the destinction of being the only Pub in Britain that has an entrance on three different streets. It was raining when we were there... but then again it's always raining in Lancashire.

    L to R - Chas(Chas), Me(English Bloke), Philip(Philip.S.Tibbetts) and Alex(Cessna152Towser)

Chas drove over 200 miles from Norfolk and Alex came down from Hawick in Scotland so much journeying done by those attending. Chas also gave us each a silk Dandelion for our button holes to (X) mark the occasion.

Alex (Paisley Tartan) Me (Johnstone), Chas (Macleod of Lewis) Philip (Halesowen)

The Halesowen tartan kilt that Philip wore is a one off. He designed the tartan along with another representing the Black Country, had single kilt lengths woven for each and made into kilts of each. Truly unique. I was a bit disappointed that he only had the one kilt on though.

    Philip and Alex.

    Chas.

Come half-nine Alex had to leave to get his train north so we elected to walk over to the University Tavern where my son's Band Vox Population were playing to a packed house.

    Vox Population.

    Philip was enjoying it anyway..

It was a great night and much fun and conversation was had by all. It was great to meet everyone and it felt like we'd been mates for years. Must do it again soon.
    Best Regards John

Several years ago now, Rob (Lincs) put me on to Robinsons 'Old Tom' 8.5% .... you can get bottles in Sainsbury ... its a beautiful sup ...
We quite often go up to Swaledale (N Yorks) to gig, perhaps we could organise n meet up for a beer next time we head that way if you are free.

I'm over in North Yorkshire quite often and would love to meet up. Let me know when you're next up. If I can I'll be there.
