Kilted Canyon Hike
Today was the Bright Angel Trail Hike. I went kilted, of course. Someone said it was a brisk 18 degrees (Fahrenheit) at the rim. The first question everyone asked was "Aren't you cold in that thing?"
I wasn't.
Poor pic of me kilted for the cold hike.

Daybreak at the south rim...

The canyon...

Took this just about 1.5 miles into the hike. The little red circle is the 3 mile rest house, where we were turning around today.

It was a brisk 18 degrees at the top. This was quite a ways down, where the temps had climbed enough for the ice to start melting...

A pack mule string taking supplies down...

A vertical panorama...

A scrub jay posing...

A different pose...

A tree with character...

Thanks for the flix! I was raised north of Flagstaff, and that brings back a whole bunch of memories! Thanks again!

You are too modest. You didn't mention that its a 1,940 foot climb back out from the Three Mile Rest House.
Great pics.

I am rather stiff and really beat tonight. I'll post more pics when I get the ambition to process them.

One last pic. One of the panoramas I took today. Posting it as a link, since it's bigger than normal...

I have to echo Alan H, I would really love to go there someday as well. Any recommendations on a time of year that would be good?
