I know fair goers everywhere will probably hate me for this, but I'm going to say it anyway.
I think there are some things that AREN'T meant to be deep fried.
Looking great in the new kilt, btw!

Looks like a great time. Thanks for posting the pics!
"Before two notes of the theme were played, Colin knew it was Patrick Mor MacCrimmon's 'Lament for the Children'...Sad seven times--ah, Patrick MacCrimmon of the seven dead sons....'It's a hard tune, that', said old Angus. Hard on the piper; hard on them all; hard on the world." Butcher's Broom, by Neil Gunn, 1994 Walker & Co, NY, p. 397-8.

How does one deep fry beer? Do I even want to know?
"To the make of a piper go seven years of his own learning, and seven generations before. At the end of his seven years one born to it will stand at the start of knowledge, and leaning a fond ear to the drone he may have parley with old folks of old affairs." - Neil Munro

Very cool -- looks like you had a fun time.
Someday I'll go to the State Fair. Lived here all my life and never seem to be able to get the chance. Every year, we say we'll try... something comes up... and then it'll be "well, there's always next year."

It's injected into something like a ravioli, rolled in batter and fried.

Nice Kilt and looks like a day of fun and ....food?
After my first kilt camp I entered my kilt in our local fair exhibition hall under hand sewing. I got second place! Which I thought was pretty good for something most people have never seen close up and be able to inspect and most of all I was competing with the Quilters! It was fun to hear peoples remarks and I had make it with the "State tartan"
