Looks like you had fun. I haven't been to the Wild Animal Park in a while, but it is nice to see the animals in a slightly more realistic setting.
Plus any outing is better in a kilt!

I like the descriptions. Thanks for sharing those.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Great pics, love the San Diego area my wife and I visit about 2-3 times a year. Don't usually make the zoo but go to old town, Balboa park and of course Sea World.

Looking good. Camo print kilts are perfect wear for visiting zoos.

I don't know whether to feel flattered or not - being likened to a Bald Headed Ibis indeed!!
8 out of 10 for your 'Hamish', but I cannot give the BHI more than 5!
Take care,
Ham.

You definitely had a cooler day than they did on the weekend, but it was still warm inland. I live about 5 miles from the Wild Animal Park, and work about 10 miles from there.
Great pictures and captions (but I don't think I'd want to be the guy measuring a gorilla for a kilt).

Well Ham, you definitely have better legs and your nose isn't nearly so long. It was the showmanship that got me.
The WAP was really fun. We want to go back later in the year with our niece and nephew. There was actually a lot more to do that we didn't bother with due to time and heat. We never got to see the elephants, tigers, or any of the North American animals they have on exhibit.
.. the kilt had concealed a blaster strapped to one thigh and a knife to the other. He was aware of the present gentle customs against personal weapons, but he felt naked without them. Such customs were nonsense anyhow, foolishment from old women - there was no such thing as "dangerous weapons," only dangerous people.
