    Kilts Invade Arizona Flycasters

This evening Thunderbolt and I attended the monthly meeting of the Arizona Flycasters. I've been a member and invited Thunderbolt as a guest. I've always gone bifurcated to the meetings. This evening we both went in kilts. There were around 100 or so people there. It's a large well organized group. There were some comments. One was "Roger, you should have worn your kilt." Several Scots self-identified themselves to us. My flycasting instructor, a lady, thanked me for wearing the kilt. All in all good. I'm curious to see if we flush any more kilt wearers in the future.

Since we were in his neighborhood, we called up Retro-Red and met him afterward at Tim Finnegan's for a pint, or in his case a wee dram.

In the spirit of the event needing a picture, here is one that Retro Red took of us as we appeared for the meeting this evening. Thunderbolt is sporting his new handcrafted belt that he just finished. The sporran is also his handiwork.

Great pic you two. You got my finger twitching to head out on the local streams soon. The weather is supposed to be clear this wqeekend. Maybe I'll try to go out and entice some trout to come out and play.

BTW, the program was an excellent presentation by a Native American on fly fishing techniques in the White Mountains of Arizona. That would be the east side of the state.
