Logging On from Vancouver Island

Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver is the embarkation port for the one hour and forty minutes sailing to Nanaimo on Vancouver Island.

Vancouver Island beckoning on the horizon.

From Nanaimo I travelled by bus to Parksville on Sunday where I met up with my relatives Alan and Joel.

On Monday I met up with Phyllis, a long time friend who is the ex-wife of my cousin Bill.

I visited the Comox Air Force Museum on Wednesday, the Canadair Argus is one of their larger exhibits.

Spitfire undergoing restoration.

Royal Canadian Air Force Pipe Major uniform, 1963.

Phyllis on Goose Spit, a narrow peninsula near Comox.

The outfall below the dam at John Hart Lake, near Campbell River.

The view across to Quadra Island from Campbell River.

Me in the driving seat of a veteran logging truck at Campbell River museum.

With cousin Bill and his new Spanish wife Teresa.

Phyllis at Cumberland.

Above the snow line beside Comox Lake.
Tomorrow I am due to head south from Courtenay for a family gathering at Qualicum where over fifty of my relatives are expected to attend, then I will be staying a few days in Parksville before travelling on to Sooke, and then Victoria for the Kilt Night on Saturday 19th March. That's all for now folks.

B.C. certainly is as "super-natural" as the tourist brochures declare, eh?
