    Long's Peak

Over the past weekend, the Colorado +2 X-Markers attended the Long's Peak Scots/Irish Celtic Fest in Estes Park, CO. The +2 is for the two out-of-staters that attended the fest. Mael Coluim from Virginia and HeathBar from Tenn. joined Livingston, Mudd, FreeDon, and McNulty on Sat. The day started off with a parade that eventually led to the fairgrounds where folks could enjoy food, music, and friendship. Pipe bands wandered the fair grounds starting up a tune almost anywhere and regular concerts happened at the main stage from Fri. evening to Sun. afternoon. The highlight of the entire fest was the Tattoo held on Sat. night. I won't bore you with all 60 pix, but here are a couple of the marching pipe bands. Enjoy!

Love Estes Park, and Longs Peak was the first mountain I ever went up. It looks like you all had a good time. Please, bore us with more pix!

I'll add some of my 200+ this weekend. I've been going thru more training this week for the new job and getting worn out WAY too early in the day.

    Mr. Malcolm and Mr McNulty,

    You took some great pictures.

We saw a few really BIG bull elk later that day in someones front yard in the middle of town.

You also got a couple of shots of the Big Horn Restaurant, where we ate breakfast the next morning. Where, incidentally, we spotted Mr McNulty leaving while we were eating.

Oh man, Mudd, were you and your family there also? The food was great and wished we had eaten there for dinner on Sat.( we wet to a really bad Mexican place in downtown Estes Park). You should have said something. We took Trail Ridge Road on the way back and hiked a trail. We came across a open field where a bull elk was bugling(sp) and he led his harem of about 25-30 females and young out to browse about 50-60 yards in front of us. My wife and I sat on a boulder for about 1/2 hour just watching. They are magnifcent animals
