Louisbourg 250'th

Was at Louisbourg on Cape Breton last July for the 250'th of the loss.

This is a reconstruction of 1/5 the town as it appeared




with reconstructed warehouses

Very good pictures. Do they do re-enactments their too? it appeared thet way judging from the outfits on view

Louisbourg part 3

the spectator battle
off to the field

highlanders started with a war dance

the opposition

some fireworks

the low fog added a surreal quality to it


all things must come to an end

In the end a dark day for new france

The English demolished the site over the next five years so it could never be a threat. In the 1960's when the mines failed, a government project to train people and reconstruct the site brought it to what it is now
