    Marine Corps Ball Garmisch Germany

On the 10th of November, I was invited to attend the Marine Corps Ball hosted by the Marine staff members of the George C. Marshall Center in Garmisch, Germany.

I've gotten to know some of them reasonably well and it was an honor to attend. I asked if they would mind if I wore a kilt, and they cheerfully agreed.

So here is the pic taken by the professional photographer between the US and MC flags. (My wife was ill and could not attend).

One of the officers wants me to help him get a leatherneck kilt!

Thanks Marines for your service to our Nation.

    Tom

What a great event and a great honor for you! You 'go' very well with the Marine Corps Banner.
Look at Scottish guys wearing kilts - you could look at them and laugh, but the way they carry themselves, how can you? If you believe in it, that's what makes it cool.Andre Benjamin - American Rapper (formerly known as Dre) Songwriter and Musician

Very well dressed, Tom. It is so nice to see the kilt worn at the proper length.

    Thumbs up

I don't know how I missed this one before

It's a splendid photo, your great looking ambassador for the kilt Tom!

p.s. - is that the ox yoke kilt pin I see you wearing?

    Tartan?

You look great Tom! I agree that you match the flags very well...and I love your hose. Question: What tartan is that? At first glance I thought it might have been Royal Stewart...but with the white in the middle of the red I realized it isn't...though the coloring appears very similar.
