Massachusetts Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service

SteveB and I went along to the Memorial Service to Fallen Firefighters at the State Building in Boston MA on September 11th

Colour Party

The Statue for the Fallen Firefighters was ringed by pipers and drummers from several fire service pipe bands.

Lest we forget.

The memorial was established in 2007, this year 14 names were added to the memorial ring.

I hope you won't mind me asking, but is the memorial for the firefighters of Boston that have fallen in the line of duty? Or, for all US firefighters that have fallen? I assume that the names that have been added are ones that fell this year?
I don't want to appear as a smart A@##, but I would like to understand completely so I can, in my very small way, do justice to these very brave souls.

The memorial is for Massachusetts firefighters that haven fallen. The state has 351 Cities and towns in 306 fire districts. This is located in the courtyard of the Massachusetts State House in Boston.
Good question. I hope the answer serves you.
