Melrose Pipe Band Competition

Such a braw setting for a pipe band contest, with Melrose Abbey in the background.

Scotia & Caledonia Kilts stall.

Men's kilts in purple barathea at £199 each.
A kilt for Panache perhaps, but they only had it in stock in waist sizes 32 and 34.

Plenty of kilted spectators here.

And an awfy lot of kilted pipers and drummers. There were over forty bands taking part, with competitions in grades 2,3,4 and novice.

Massed bands ready to move off with 101 Northumbrian Regiment Royal Artillery Volunteers nearest camera.

A weel kent face - a cheesy grin from Cammy Renwick of Hawick Pipe Band

Royal Army of Oman Pipe Band, winners of the Grade 4 contest.

Well, I did not realise that the piping event at Melrose was such a large occasion. Thanks for the pictures Alex.

Thanks for the pictures, Alex. I love the wee drum major in the Bo'Ness band! The sound must have been fantastic.
