    Mini Kilt; From the Beginning

I'm making someone a Mini-Kilt. I thought I would chronicle the progress and let everyone see it.

The next one I make will start with this. You can see the pattern on the loom

Start with 2.5 yards of lighter weight tartan 100% wool.

The following pictures are of the front apron on the right, 12 pleats, One reverse pleat and inner apron. All before tapering.

The Next Installment will show tapering and sewing the kilt. O'Neille

Here is the front apron tapered, all pleats tapered .5 inches, and the under apron tapered.

Here is the kilt with the pleats sewn down.

Here are some details of the fringe and taper, first deep pleat and the final reversed pleat and taper and under apron taper.

The next installment will be the waistband, straps and buckles followed by matching Flashes. O'Neille

I'm done for the night. I have a little hand sewing to do on the waistband, and inside of both aprons as well as the apron tucks to keep the under apron and deep pleat from peaking out. I'll have to check with Red Lioness to see if she wants belt loops now.

Here is a picture of the inside with the straps sewn on.

Now the pleats, buckles (all leather), and straps

And finally the front apron with fring and taper (I had enough material and didn't forget to match the waistband)

The final installment will be Belt loops if she wants them, a little hand finishing, and some matching flashes. O'Neille

I'm quite impressed. Too bad I can't knit or something  We could work something out.
