I haven't been on X-Marks since before Christmas so this pic is quite tardy...
Please forgive the green hose with grey sweater. I got the sweater as a gift that morning and didn't open the present containing the gray hose until after the pictures were snapped. These were taken in my folks 1849 farm house. The hearth is in the kitchen. Every kitchen should have one.

Looks fine to me the Lovat hose co-ordinate with the kilt very well.

That is Rose ancient hunting tartan.
For comparison, here is Rose modern hunting tartan next to the ancient hunting:
