Most Improbable X Marks Meetup
So on my recent Sedona vacation I met up with LA Scotswoman. We decided to go see the V Bar V petroglyph site about six miles south of Oak Creek Village. I'd read about the place in True West Magazine. Its an ancient Southern Sinagua petroglyph site that reads the Sun's comings and goings.
So hiking back to the car we hear someone shouting about a man in a kilt...well, it was a man in a kilt too. Kennethrmc from Flagstaff and his wife Martha.

What are the odds that an X Marker from Los Angeles and an X Marker from Page, AZ and an X Marker from Flagstaff are gonna meet up at a remote petroglyph site in central Arizona? Pretty long odds in my opinion.

For those of you interested in petroglyphs, I found that the Southern Sinagua seemed to have an interest in sports. Found a football petroglyph

Looks like a running back getting ready to stiff arm...
And found a golf petroglyph

And they say there's one of them round courts like the Aztecs had just down the road at the base of Sacred Mountain where the main village for this petroglyph site lies.
Anyhow...the odds of two guys in kilts, let alone three X Marks folks meeting up in the boonies like this are very very long...

That kind of defines serendipity. A couple of years ago I was standing at a McDonald's counter at a Tollway plaza in Illinois and saw a guy with a Xmarks tartan kilt. Unfortunately I wasn't kilted at the time, but we had a nice exchange while we waited for our orders (we were heading in opposite directions).

Excellent pics, Ron, a lovely group shot, its great to see you and Leslie and Kenneth all getting together in such an exotic location.
I am thinking that those white flashes you were wearing with your Isle of Skye kilt in your other pic would look good with your Antarctic kilt.

So now I see the typo in the title. Should be Improbable of course. Any mod help in correcting appreciated.
And thanks for the tip Alex, hadn't thought of the white ties with Antarctica. Get so focused on the orange, yellow and blues in the tartan. Will give it a try.

Typo repaired, cousin.
I'll have to check out that site next time I'm out Sedona way. Last time we hit all the "big" tourist sites, and next time I want to see the smaller, remote places. And next time I won't be there in AUGUST!

Very kewl Ron. I really enjoy meeting up with other XMarkers.
Alex, isn't LA Scotswoman a friend (or cousin?) of yours on the Cunningham side?
Good job Ron. Lucky you.

Amazing how that happens on vacation. Had that happen once in San Diego years ago. Your pics always have me wanting to go back to AZ. Haven't been there in about 20 yrs. though.
