    My Son's First Kilt

My son, Tayson, has been asking me for a kilt for some time now. I did not really want to spend the money on a kilt that he would not be able to wear for a while. Then I read a thread on here about the SWK kilts for children. So, with my son sitting on my knee, we browsed all the 'colors' of the kilts. I was trying to get him to choose the Buchanan (my wife is a Gibson). However, he set his heart on a red one. Once he saw the Wallace tartan, I could not persuade him otherwise. Since there is no Tartan Police force, I figure no one would care that he is wearing a tartan he has no relation to. Here is the best picture I could get of him. He has been wearing it since he got it in the mail today. It is a little big, but I figure he will grow into it. I will also be making him a little skunk sporran very soon.
(I know he looks like he is in pain, but he is trying to say 'cheese'. He just puts a little to much effort into sometimes.)

Glad to see and hear about his enthusiasm. Dad should be proud.

Starting early! He really seems to be enjoying himself in his new kilt. Hope he does not grow out of it too fast.

Good for Tayson, and good for you for getting him the kilt.

Be sure to tell him how happy we all are for him.

Fantastic! How proud he looks and rightly so! The first of many, I am sure. Way to go, Dad!

    RE:My Son's First Kilt

i have to post a pic of my son in his first kilt he got last spring, he has already grown out of it.. So it's time to get another one. It a SWK Leatherneck, just like mine. i love that SWK has kids kilts for such an affordable price, plus they have the matching flashes and kids belt and sporran, and he got his Battle Axe Kilt pin from Sport Kilt. He wore it to school on St Patrick's day and all the little girls in his 2nd grade wouldn't leave him alone.. he's hoping Santa will bring him a safety Sgian Dubh (No blade) for Christmas.

Hi Brice, excellent picture of Tayson in a kilt. I hope you can keep his enthusiasm for wearing one as he gets older.

    Regards
