    your artwork is very cool.

your cape and outfit, in general is really unique and I think it works quite well.

Re: new 2nd Kilt (plus my ravens cape)

Thanks for the remarks... it's a bit on the bright and colourful side. Not as colourful as someone I saw here with a Maple Leaf tartan kilt and bright red shirt and red hose!

I was impressed with the Crafty Celts bronze cloak clasps when they arrived. They have a decent thickness and weight and a nice clang sound when they clink together.

I haven't gotten the nerve to wear the cape out and about (going to the store .... I did go to a gallery opening with a friend though). It's pretty "retro" (as in, centuries ago but men wore capes/cloaks for thousands of years so maybe it's time to bring back the trend).

Perhaps it is time to get a sporran. I don't want a leather one and maybe something of older style may be nice .. .then again maybe a second hand leather one would fit my philosophy

Some hose like these "shooting socks" I found would be neat (never heard of 'shooting socks ' before...and they are shown with trousers ... I like the old style real ties with tassles instead of flashes). I still like the idea of just lengths of fabric wrapped around the lower legs (I'm using two scarves on each leg ... one basically as topper) ... I like the idea of it all being a bit more ancient than the modern tradition.

Here's one more pic ... a turning around action pic

This was taken with the flash active ...so it's a bit brighter (too bright really)

I think a sporran really finishes the outfit when one wears a tartan kilt. Some Xmarkers have made sporrans out of second hand leather jackets and there are second hand sporrans on eBay or craigslist.

Here is a thread about a board member who made a canvas sporran, with pics:

I am wicked jealous of that shirt!
I second the approval of the archaeo-retro look too; hands down, one of the best new takes on Kilted attire in my opinion. With the people around G-burg I'd end up sounding like Professor Henry Higgins explaining it to them. TeeHee
I'm like you though, I like the cape idea but just cant seem to get around to it myself. I always thought to try wearing a brat with two penanulars if I get to that point.
Kudos on the painting as it is very evocative.
