| | | New Argyle jacket
Well, now that my Prince Charlie doesn't fit I decided I wanted to get an Arglye jacket for the wedding. I know they're not as formal, but I just prefer them.
I had a lot of trouble trying to fine one in my size that didn't cost the earth, when my Dad stumbled across one on ebay in just my size. (£37)
So he got it for a very reasonable price and it was my (Early) birthday present for this year.
Me looking much younger than I am out in the veranda.
And one including Pip looking very slinky and, well, kinda evil. |

That's a GREAT price for an Argyll. I can't really make it out from the picture though... a bit blurry... Congrats though.

really nice price for an Argyle, the shots look dark to me, I like the look on Pip's face.

I prefer Argyll jackets too, plus you look great, especially with the Isle of Skye (?) kilt!

Looking very smart, Arlen, though it is difficult to make out the detail of the jacket in a night photo when you appear to be also wearing a black shirt. I often wear an Argyle jacket to work, along with a black tie and black kilt. Personally I prefer the Argyle to the Prince Charlie.

It is very dark. Here's a shot taken in the light, today. With a white shirt.
It's actually a Macdonald of the isles ancient(Dress).
When I first bought it I thought it was fashion tartan, but I was wearing it in a kiltstore one day and the nice old gent who ran it was sure he'd seen it in the rare tartans before.
After a long search he managed to dig out an old sample by J. Pringle weavers (Not that james Pringle, another, I think.) which showed that it was an early attempt at doing a Macdonald of the isles ancient with a white dress stripe.
I was kinda reluctant to believe it at first, because I know there should be another colour in there, but after another kiltmaker confirmed it I was quite happy.
I am a Donald, so it works out just fine for me.

Thanks Arlen - it looks an entirely different tartan in the light!
And very smart you look in it too!
