New Hose, Flashes and Sporran
So yesterday I got a new Buzz Kidder sporran from the Scottish Tartans Museum. Previously, I only had a reall cheap-ola one and preferred to do without a sporran altogether. Since I was ordering that I figured more kilt hose were also necessary, since I only had cream colored hose and I don't like the way they look with most shirts. Plus, money isn't any good unless you spend it, right? Oh and then of course I needed some golden/yellow flashes (obviously) . It's a good thing I didn't have more money or else I'd really be broke... Sooo...
Black kilt hose with golden flashes, black country-style sporran and the ultimate kilt-accessory: a crape-myrtle. The tartan is MacNeil of Barra (pleated to stripe). If I get the ok to wear the kilt to work once in a while, I think this is the look I'll go for.
Showing the yellow vertical stripe in the pleats, which is what I was trying to match the flashes too. Those are the green hose, in case you were wondering what happened to your monitor.
You can see here that there actually are stripes that the kilt is pleated to  I'm not really a fan of jacobite shirts but I have one and the color was the best match among my (reasonably) clean shirts. So yeah, there you have it! And just in time too - the Virginia Irish festival is coming up! Are kilts the national dress of Ireland? No. Will I be kilted regardless?-Do I really have a choice when I have all this new stuff?

oh, you can see the stripes! I need to pull up me kilt there I suppose but I was a little preocuppied with something on the ground.

Oooh! How neat to see that tartan I've been researching the McNeill name in my family tree and would love to see where they came from to decide which tartan to get. Very neat -- it's lovely, and I can see the stripes just fine, too.
All your accessories look great, too... very nice sporran!
