New Union Kilts beige corduroy at Samye Ling
The postman arrived early this morning with a parcel for me from Richard at Union Kilts - it was the beige corduroy hillwalker kilt which I'd ordered from him. In my hurry to try it on, I failed to realise that one of the belt loops was a rather too tight fit for the Union Kilts jeans belt and I burst the stitching which held one end of the loop. Not to worry, as an exiled Paisley buddy I have a huge stock of vintage wooden bobbins of J & P Coats' threads in every conceivable colour and was soon able to find a matching colour and make an invisible mend. This kilt is a radically new departure for me, being my first kilt in such a light colour and also my first corduroy kilt. Although the kilt is similar in style to the denim kilts supplied by Union Kilts, the material is much softer and surprisingly light considering its thickness.

After spending much of the morning seeing which tops and socks would or would not work with the new kilt, I was finally out to the back garden for the obligatory pleats shot.

Kilts are made for going places so I took Ann for a short drive up to Samye Ling for lunch.
The sun wasn't in a good place for a shot in front of the Temple.

Concluding with a shot of Ann at the Stupa.

Nice shots, and a fine looking kilt, congratulations on it.
I am wearing my Union Kilt today as well, may change however for the Toronto FC tonight.

I do like the softness of corduroy, and those pictures are just awesome. Not only the Kilt but the surrounding area!

This makes me want one of these even more.
Man, I have to get a bonus at work or something.
As always, Alex, you look fantastic.
And, as always, Ann looks like she is having a wonderful time.
You two are obviously perfect for each other.
