Not kilted, but pretty cool anyway

    Hi folks

We had the incomparable experience of watching a friend go to work on Friday night. Not your ordinary job, or your ordinary departure for work, though!

Astronaut Jim Reilly is a good friend of ours, and he arranged passes for us to see the launch of STS 117 at one of the close-in viewing areas. Dave took this picture just after liftoff.

Wow that is a beautiful shot, must have been an amazing experience, thanks for sharing the picture.

    Barb,

What a great picture to start the week with!

    Has your hearing recovered yet?

And you're asking a bagpiper about hearing.....!?

Seriously, it was an amazing sound. And our shirts were fluttering from the _sound_, not the wind!

Those are fantastic shots, and I'm sooo jealous, I've always wanted to see a space launch.

    Best regards,
