To think that just less than two weeks ago, Jim and I were in that area. Our hotel looked out across the entrance to Loch Etive towards the tiny Oban airport. Together with Chris (Redshanks) and his lovely wife Tracey, we visited the northern end of the Crinan Canal (at Crinan!) and drove past the locks in your photo, before driving on to Inveraray. We also sailed on that 'Isle of Mull' ferry to Craignure - on the Isle of Mull! What a delight that part of the world is! I was in Oban last year for a long weekend, but did not get to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside and coastline. My appetite is now thoroughly whetted.
