Thumbs up Ok Ron! New Kathy Lare pics

Okay, the lighting is bad, and I didn't time my spin just right... Sorry.
Let me know what y'all think re. the footwear. This is my modern interpretation of the WW1 military look. They're L.L. Bean Maine Hunting Shoes. Very comfortable and practical. The leather uppers kinda resemble the old spats, and I've tried to get the hose height correct (looks like they wore them lower -- more around the largest portion of the calf, than is common today). I know they didn't wear flashes, but these are KATHY LARE SPECIALS! I think this is a pretty good solution, especially when you're going to be in muddy areas (the lower boot is rubber).

Kilt: Kathy Lare 8 yd 13oz muted MacNaughton (House of Edgar) knife pleated to the stripe. Matching flashes
    Sgian/belt/sporran: Scotia Metalworks
    Hose: Oatmeal, standard
    Old, khaki shirt...

Cool...I would have brought the hose down to the top of the boot...Everything looked ok to me in the pics, I really liked the boots...Nice Kilt too.

That is a very nice kilt indeed, I think the entire outfit is very well put together.

Beautiful kilt. I'm just wondering if the fell is supposed to be so low. I should go check my GT tank.

According to my reading of Barb's book, the fell should be sewn down to the widest part of the butt, so the pleats then can fall straight down.

I'm getting dangerous with now being able to know more than I need to know about how a kilt should be made.

Very nice kilt! I like the boots. I think you can wear them with the hose as you've got it, or, like Chase says, with the hose further down. The only thing is that the flashes seem to low for the height of the boot; maybe dispense with them?
