Old to New Jacket
Just thought I'd put up the following pic of a jacket I'm doing up for a buddy. Hard to get the light right as the colour is midnight blue.

This was a normal dress jacket he had, nice cashmere. Wanted something a little different for kilt wear, and being ex-mil he wanted it with a stand-up collar. Just need to put the buttons on, his ex-regimental Irish Fusiliers of Canada.

Thats nice looking Moosehead. You do nice work.
The kilt concealed a blaster strapped to his thigh. Lazarus Long

Looks great Moose. I don't know if I could bring myself to alter my Dress Blues blouse.

No, you probably wouldn't want to do that.
This was just your basic sports jacket he had in his closet. The lower pockets were removed, modified and became the upper pockets. Lapels were modified so as to be straight, and the standup collar was added, along with the lower sleeve mods. Cutout was obviously done as well, along with vent mod at the rear.

Just makes me think that we should be on the lookout for any old Nehru jackets at the thrift shops, eh?
By the way...what did Nehru call them?

I think the actual name of the jacket is a Sherwani

Ah, yes, so it is. And just before I caught the kilt bug, I was thinking seriously about having one of these garnet-colored numbers made up for me for a dinner I was to attend. The dinner has passed, so I guess that obsession will have to wait for now.
Nice job on the Sherwani, Moose!
