    Orthodox Christian Wedding, Kilted

Steve and I were married this past Sunday at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, Wilkeson, Washington. When we were planning the wedding, the Greek Orthodox priest did not hesitate about the kilt, he said, "Yes of course, for you, it is formal."

The historic church's electricity failed, so we had a candlelit wedding.

I hope the photos show up.

I made my dress (silk, warp green/weft brick red), my ancient Buchanan sash, the groom's kilt hose, his fly brooch, his cap badge (used his USAF Navigator's wings) and our Orthodox wedding crowns (mine green ribbons, his blue ribbons, braided together in the center.)

After the wedding, Steve presented me with a sash in his tartan, Armstrong ancient.

Congratulations to you both! May you know many years of happiness together. The photos are great, and you both look finely attired.

Your priest looks so young though, lol.

Congratulations and thanks for sharing. Your dress is beautiful and made even more beautiful by the stunning Buchanan sash!

Look at Scottish guys wearing kilts - you could look at them and laugh, but the way they carry themselves, how can you? If you believe in it, that's what makes it cool.Andre Benjamin - American Rapper (formerly known as Dre) Songwriter and Musician
