Our weekend in Inverness

Hi guys. Laura and I headed up to Inverness on Friday to see some sights, especially since none of us had been before. The trip was my Christmas present from Laura
We explored the city on Friday then set off to Loch Ness and Culloden on Saturday. On the way home today we stopped off at a few spots in the Cairngorms National Park. I climbed Cairngorm and some surrounding mountains a few years ago but it was nice to get some pics from "down below"!

I had my Auld Lang Syne tartan kilt with me but I am only pictured with my Campbell Ancient, which I wore to Culloden. 41 documented Campbells fought within the Jacobite ranks during the battle.

Sorry I never took many pics... I forgot to put a memory stick in my camera and it only holds 13 pics internally!

Nice photos, Paul. What a nice Christmas present. Nice looking sporran flask. Do you happen to know the name of the castle near Perth?

Your "ruined castle" is in fact Ruthven Barracks near Kingussie. Burnt down by retreating and defeated Jacobites in 1746.

Nice pictures Paul!

Pity you forgot your stick as Inverness is a beautiful place.

Don't recall seeing that painting when I was last in Highland House of Fraser but that was 3 years ago.
