Out and about near home Fathers Day

    The beach near home Mey.

Which is just at the back of the Castle of Mey.

This was the Queen Mother's summer home which she left in trust to the local community and is now open to the public.

    A couple of the locals.

    And our 2 wet dogs.

A view over to Hoy, Orkney.

The little bit sticking up on the left is the pillar of rock called the Old Man of Hoy.

Then further along the coast, Brough Bay.

And yours truly in my new MacLaren Ancient tank in 16oz Strome. It was a bit cool and a bit of a breeze.

My daughter got me the navy hose for fathers Day so I had to wear them.

    Cheers.

    Chris.

Wow, amazing pictures thanks for sharing them. I want to go visit Scotland really bad now. I have been there a few times but never that far north. I definitely need to change that and go see how beautiful that part of Scotland is with my own eyes.

    Wow

My goodness Chris, that is some beautiful country, and some handsome friends, you have there! The darkening of the skies in a few of those shots really creates a stunning effect. Thanks for thinking of us.

    Cheers,

    Brooke

PS. Congrats on the new hose, ya look great!

    Happy Father's Day!

How comfortable were you in the cool breeze, wearing all that wool?

As snug as a bug in a rug!

I should have worn my balmoral hat.

    Enjoying These

Where I live it is 10ft or 12 ft. to the sidewalk and another 5 feet to the street. Plenty of traffic, urbanized metro LA. I very much enjoy your photos. It is very relaxing to see the open space, the wonderful stone walls, the sea and hey the dogs make it great. What are the dogs names?

Chris: Thanks for the wander-lust inducing panoramas. Love the brooding shot of Hoy. Your dogs look like they're having a great time, too. Great looking kilt, jacket, vest, and especially the navy-blue hose.

Very nice scenery. You are as far north in Scotland as the most southern part of Norway. And Orkney was actually a part of Norway from year 875 to 1468.
