Outing with the new kilts

So our new kilts finally arrived just in the nick of time. We were actually all packed and on our way out of town for a wedding when we stopped at the post office.

My daughter (9 months) has had her kilt in our clan colours (MacPherson) for a while, but we finally came up with the funds for ours in December. So she's sporting a kilt from nokoman56 on ebay. I added an elastic waistband on the back because she's a tall and skinny little thing. Her pin is an angel that belonged to her late grandmother.

My kilt is an 18" mini kilt from Scotweb in 16 oz wool from Batli. Thistle embroidered black hose with no flashes, and black ballet flats, a chemise, and a black corset. My pin is a Luckenbooth my husband got me of of ebay.

My husband's kilt is also from Scotsweb. It's a Balmoral 16 oz wool also from Batli. He's also sporting a ghillie shirt traded for antlers from Howard Clark, a Kenpo Crest sgian dubh and Universal System (a Kenpo thing) kilt pin also traded for antlers from Kilted Carver, a celtic knot embossed belt and a stag with celtic knot antlers off of ebay. The shoes are just regular dress shoes as Scotsweb sent the wrong size ghillie brogues.

My mom took these pictures of us. I'll take better ones at a later time. We wore our kilts all weekend! It was funny that so many people don't believe you that you'de wear a kilt for no good reason. I told them that "Life is an occassion -- rise to it!"
