Over the Lake District
Last flight of the year, a scenic flight with a friend, this time keeping to the English side of the Solway and flying over the Lake District.

Skiddaw, (3,100 feet) has a dusting of snow on top.

Ullswater

Lyulph's Tower, a medieval pele tower and Howard stronghold overlooking Ullswater, which was substantially renovated and extended as a shooting lodge in the 1780's.

Pooley Bridge, where Ullswater overflows and becomes the River Eamont, which is a tributary of the Eden which flows through Carlisle, in turn flowing into the Solway Firth.

Those are great pictures, you should really invest in a polarising filter for your camera, it makes the haze disappear, it does wonders with those types of shots.

Removed photoshop work. Decided this was not a photography forum. I just enjoy the photos!

It's amazing what a few Photoshop filters can do:

Edit: Someone beat me to it! Yeah, I probably went a little overboard with the sharpening, but I just passed them through a few quick ready-made actions.

Amazing. Well done, Andrew.
I've previously experimented with the photo editing software which came with the camera; the results were certainly sharper and clearer but the colours seemed a bit off, so all the stuff I've been posting has been unamended.

Beautiful pics, man I miss flying!
From the lone Shieling of the misty islands,
Mountains divide us and the waste of seas.
Yet still the blood is strong, the heart is Highland,
And we in dreams behold the Hebrides.

Wonderful shots.
Thanks for posting them.

Well you guys are just amazing with your photoshop. I ran my pics. through Digimax Master auto quality edit and reloaded them on Phototbucket and hopefully they'll now display a bit clearer.
