Pacific Northwest Tour, PART VII (and final) – Mt. Baker

Before leaving Seattle, Ken and I drove around to see different parts of the city (sometimes by accident, sometimes deliberately). Here from a marina north of downtown (below a tony neighborhood known as “The Highlands”), we could see the Olympic range stretched out across Puget Sound.




Heading back in the general direction of Bellingham, we took a scenic route east along the North Fork Nooksack River, toward Mt. Baker, the snow-capped peak in the distance.




We stopped to see the impossible-to-photograph Nooksack Falls (eleven people have died trying). This is just the top of it.




At the end of the Mt. Baker Highway, there’s this breathtaking view of Mt. Larrabee.








Finally, we have one last backward glance at Mt. Baker.

All of the photos from this series are phenomenal! I've taken in some of the mountains east of Seattle, but I've never headed out to any of the islands. I've missed a lot! Thanks for the pictures.
