Pics: Tartan Day Celebration in Toronto

On April 8th, I went down to the Caledonian pub with my crew for a double celebration of Tartan Day and my birthweek. I was pleased to meet some fellow Xmarkers there and we had a great time

Before heading out, we took a few pics in my parking lot while the sun was still up. The tartans from left to right are: MacQuarrie modern, Chinese/Scottish, Nova Scotia, and Grant.

Yours truly with a view of Casa Loma peeking through the background (http://www.casaloma.org/):

With Jeremiah McDade, who is not only one of my oldest friends, but also a Juno Award winning musician as part of the Celtic/Roots band the McDades (http://www.myspace.com/themcdades):

This is the first time my lass wore the Chinese/Scottish tartan kilt-skirt I bought her a while ago from Strathmore. She said it was itchy

    More pics to come...

    Excellent photos!

It's especially nice to see parts of Toronto with which I am familiar, having spent 11 years just up the hill from Casa Loma.

Down at the pub we drank some tasty pints:

Should've got everyone to stand up Here are our fellow Xmarkers hiding their kilts under the table and one ladyfriend without any tartan (left to right are Laura, KenB, Andrew M. Stewart, Biathlonman, Kilted Realtor):

Andrew got up a couple times to play the pipes, which he did very well indeed:

Hamish the Black showed up a little later with his lass:

Ignore the glasses, but this is a flight of whiskies from 6 different regions of Scotland. Happy birthday to me!

Wow great pics, sorry we missed it. We are going down to Franklin NC in the middle of May, but would love to have a kilt night when we get back. Thanks for the pics, glad to see someone had a good night while we were dealing with our car.

That looks like a great time. It's nice to put some more faces to names.
