Pix from Tartan Day in Fredericksburg VA
For Tartan Day, I debuted my latest belted plaid in the St. Columba tartan. Matt Newsome had added the drawn string cord in it for me.
Here, I wearing with it my Lewis hose, self tie flashes and medeval moccasins. The staff I obtained along the Great Glen Way on my 2004 Scotland trip from Iona to Inverness.

Here at Dr. Mercer's Apothecary Shop the Scottish Society of Fredericksburg spent Tartan Day. These two lasses are the backbone of the Society, our new chief Melissa Lukan and Keeper of the Sporran Arvil Bishop.

Inside the Apothecary the display had been set up. Members of the society exchange thoughts with the curator of the museum.

These lovely lasses gave me the tour of the museum. In period they explained Dr. Mercer's 18th century approach to medicine. It was an eye opening experience.

It was a grand afternoon, although the weather didn't cooperate and crowds didn't materialzie for those who participated had a wonderful time.

Wonderful picture and photos Mael, it looks like a grand day indeed.

Great pics! Sorry I missed it! I always liked seeing the Apothecary when I got turned around in Fredericksburg.

You look great, and it sounds like an entertaining and educational event. Too bad it's such a long drive from L.A.
Cheers,
