    Pomona Highland Games, with video

First turn of the caber, 11:30 score (close to perfect)

Second turn, perfect 12:00 turn. For some reason the video is cut short though.

Third turn, and another perfect 12:00.

    More pics will follow later.

    Well done Yaish!

Is that an "A" class caber (the big one)?

I only wish it was an A class. I compete in C class, and that was a C class caber. I actually liked it so much I bought it and took it home with me =)

We needed a caber to practice with, and SAAA just got a whole bunch of new sticks, so I was able to buy some of the older ones.

I did take a turn on the A class caber though. I only took one attempt, but I'm pretty sure I could have turned it with a couple more attempts. The caber in the vid is 14 feet long, and 74 lbs. The A class caber was 18 feet long and 100 lbs.
The main difference is that the longer caber is much more difficult to balance, but the weight is not that much more of a problem. It's all about the length, which effects your timing on the toss.
