Prairie Wedding Pics

Not too long ago I asked the rabble for some help preparing for a destination wedding to the Canadian Prairies. Now I'm going to post some photos of how it turned out.

First a few shots from the trip out to the middle of nowhere

Driving:

The world's largest Ukranian Easter egg:

Once a common sight on the prairies, this grain elevator is now part of a museum:

More pics to follow, so stay tuned...

That's an oxymoron, but nice pics so far. Keep 'em coming.

Yes, "destination wedding" in Saskatchewan was a bit of an oxymoron for me. For some people (like my lass) it was quite exotic; 12 hours of airplane and car travel to a previously unexplored location. She was rather enthralled with a plethora of plants, animals, and geography she had never seen

On to the next batch of pics!

Given my plans to wear the kilt, I thought it appropriate that the wedding was held near Aberdeen, SK:

My entrance, striding across the field:

Me, ushering the attendees to their seats with my sporran somewhat skewed

This is the arrival of the groom's half of the wedding party:

Here comes the bride:

More pics later...

OK rabble, just a few final pics.

My lass and I. This is definitely my favourite from the entire trip:

Another view of the field where the ceremony took place:

The only other "kilt" at the wedding was worn by a family friend manning one of the BBQs:

After the wedding, we spent a few days with my dad and step-mom in Edmonton. They have a really nice pond (with fish!) that I don't often see because it's usually covered in snow at Christmas:

And last but not least, I met a fellow Xmarker at the Scottish Imports store! Neither Kiltedwolfman nor I were kilted at the time though... very nice to meet you sir, good luck with the move, and hopefully we'll see each other again soon
