Very smart. Made by Highland Clans out of Argyll I presume...aka, the Balmoral doublet? I have seen the photo (bottom) of HRH Prince Charles wearing this style of doublet many times before, does it not appear that HRH wears the belt in the same manner as you (again, look at the bottom photo of the two)? Underneath the Inverness flaps? I suppose either way would work, especially if one desired to wear a dirk and frog.

I once attended an evening function at Holyrood Palace where HRH Prince Charles was kilted and yes, he wore his belt over his doublet. The colour of the doublet struck me as being very much "Thistle green", which is the colour of the broad ribbon of the Order of the Thistle, as opposed to a bright green or a "tartan" green.

No, Stewart Christie here in Edinburgh actually. They call it a Montrose doublet and their catalogue shows it worn with the belt outside -

It is a nice style of doublet Phil, and one which I wasn't really aware of before. I think velvet doublets are hard to carry off without looking too theatrical but this style in bottle green or thistle green works very well.

My father's 'Montrose' buttons to the neck with a gap on what otherwise looks like a Nehru collar for the Jabot.

That must have been quite an experience - a perfect venue, I must say! Very smart colour. Much more subtle than the other green velvet variants offered these days. I have always been rather fond of the single-breasted doublet style as shown above. Kinloch-Anderson calls this type of doublet, the Kenmore. Interesting how each company has their own name for essentially the same style of garment. Very simplistic, clean, and elegant.
