When I graduated from high school (1970) my Mum gave me a plane ticket to the UK as a gift for graduating with honors. I stayed for two weeks in Liverpool with my mom's uncle Jim Robertson.
I previously posted an thread on him. Here's a photo of him in northwest India in the 30s that he gave me. On the back he wrote;
“Waiting & facing a picket down the hills. We use our guns to put them up and bring them down. You will notice me standing in the centre with my back against the rocks and glasses around my neck. Jim”

Fantastic pictures, I have a few but only date back to WWII and the Cold War.
I recently started researching my family name Rogerson and now realize why I have always had an affinity for Scottish music and things; apparently, the Rogerson name was very popular in the Dumfriesshire Scotland and Wales area, so my desire to wear a kilt is not out of haste but cultural legacy.
Cheers
Chris

Wonderful photos, thanks for sharing them.
