Rollo Ancient tartan

Here are pics of the new kilt I purchased yesterday at William Glen and Son's store in Union Square, San Francisco, CA. It is in the Rollo Ancient tartan. I didn't realize that they had ex-hire and kilts that were on clearance.

I think this one was a clearance one as it had the original flashes and basting. In any case, it was about half the price of a new kilt. I awoke early this morning and removed the basting so I can wear it tonight.

The tartan is pretty bright, but just right for a foggy day in the City by the Bay.

Thanks, everyone. I really like it. Although I just annointed it with steak the first time out with it.

I wonder if teflon coatings would work on a kilt apron to protect it?

Ay information on the Rollo tartan? Background, History, etc. I have an Orkney ancestor with middle name Rollo.

The Flickr image display is a pain in the neck.

If I visit the link you provided, I am at this URL - http://www.flickr.com/photos/7974183@N06/496458200/

However, when the forum software sees a URL wrapped in IMG tags, it needs to see what file type the image actually is. And you will see there is absolutely no file extension on that URL.

So, you need to visit that link, right-click the image, select Properties, highlight the Location URL in the Element Properties box and then copy that across to the forum. The location URL for that image is (Do a mouse rollover to see the entire URL, as the forum software is truncating the URL) - http://farm1.static.flickr.com/204/4...f6416c.jpg?v=0

Hold on, because we're not quite through with this URL. See that last bit, tacked onto the end of the file extension? The ?v=0 business? That has to go, so the URL will look like this - http://farm1.static.flickr.com/204/4...6aacf6416c.jpg

Now THAT is a location URL the forum software will recognize.

Have you ever given any thought to Photobucket? They are much more user-friendly.
